This is an introduction for the Soul Sleep story. It is a poem about the end of humanity and how the world will be still alive once the humans are gone. It does not matter how much we destroy our mother nature, she will be always there to get stronger and wipe us off the face of the earth.

Inspired on Sara Teasdale's poem: There will come soft rains and Ray Bradbury's story Martian Chronicles: There will come soft rains. The song's title make reference to the start of Mr. Bradbury's story.

In this morning all is calm
The moonlight is gone
tired of illuminating this place
where we were born

The sunshine is walking through leaves
and burning the grass
that hides the dry ground
full of our memories

and the morning smoke as thick as ever
Suffocating everything with its scent
As a reminder of that days
that seemed to last forever

And we called for a scrap of help,
we prayed for a little mercy
Just a spark of hope in the dark
But our eyes were blurry

In this morning all is calm
Birds sing a high notes song
with the music of the mighty rushing wind

A little animal lifts its head
and sniffs the cold air
smells like loneliness
And there is where we will remain
in the emptiness that fills the air

In this morning all is calm,
but from that day on,
no one in this place will know about us

Neither moonlight, nor sunshine
And for the trees and birds
we'll be just ghosts

Only the air will know
that it's here where we were born
Only the air will know
that we're all gone
